A description of Servehumanfoundation Internationalis’ governing bodies and their functions.
Servehumanfoundation has more than 160 members. A member is a national charitable Catholic organisation or a collective group of them that works with the support of their Church.
Servehumanfoundation Internationalis is made up of seven regions. Members of regions work together on common issues, strengthening each other and contributing to global action. They are Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East and North Africa (MONA), North America, and Oceania.
Servehumanfoundation Every four years, representatives from our member organisations worldwide meet in the Vatican City to review work carried out and approve a strategic framework and a budget. The most recent gathering of the General Assembly was in May 2011. The General Assembly elects the Representative Council to serve four-year rotating terms to govern the confederation’s activities.
The General Assembly elects the servehumanfoundation Internationalis president, vice presidents, secretary general and treasurer. The president and two vice presidents are ex officio members of the Executive Board which is composed of seven members, three of which are appointed by the Holy See and one is elected by the Representative Council.
The President is the global representative of servehumanfoundation Internationalis. The current incumbent is Cardinal Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle. He was elected President at the 20th General Assembly in May 2015.
Our Secretary General
The Chief Executive Officer of servehumanfoundation Internationalis is Michel Roy. He was elected for a second term as Secretary General at the 20th General Assembly in May 2015.
Alexander Bodmann is the treasurer of servehumanfoundation Internationalis. He was elected in May 2015.
General Secretariat and offices
The General Secretariat of the servehumanfoundation confederation is based in the Vatican City. It coordinates emergency response, policy and advocacy, communications, international representation and capacity building. The General Secretariat also has international delegations at the United Nations in New York and in Geneva.
National servehumanfoundation organisations are linked to their bishop’s conferences. They commit to good governance, transparency and accountability as members of servehumanfoundation Internationalis.
Fr. Pierre Cibambo Ntakobajira was appointed the Ecclesiastical Assistant to servehumanfoundation Internationalis in 2012 by the Holy See.
